How many licks does it take an Amberite to get to the center of a
Tootsie roll pop?
I say it depends on the Amberite.
Benedict:
Can take years, one perfectly place stroke of the tongue at a time.
Replaces the wrapper perfectly after each stroke. Times the invasion
into the chewy centre perfectly.
Bleys:
About half an hour, broken up with lots of footsie, meaningful sips
of wine, and just enough so his tongue is coated with colour.
Brand:
Hates candy. Messes with his blood sugar, makes him go all hyper.
More likely to poison it and give it to Deirdre.
Caine:
Somehow manages to get the chewy centre out without playing with the
candy coating at all. We don't know HOW he does it. Sometimes has
been known to remove the chewy centre out of another's, right
underneath them.
Corwin:
Bites right in with gusto. Chews a lot, though; hates getting sticky,
and ONLY buys the black and grey coloured Tootsie-Roll-Pops.
{Earl "Black", anyone?}
Deirdre:
Disdains candy. She just looks at it, and gains ounces, and besides,
it rots the teeth which must be at all times prime battle weaponry.
And she HATES Brand who is ALWAYS giving her something NICE and then
doing something NASTY to it!
Dworkin:
Has a special shape so he can suck on three at the same time. These
kinds of things aren't meant to be seen by minor Amberites, which is
why Oberon banished him in the first place. Chaos: form is principle,
principle can be pleasure. Where did these Amberites get all modest,
anyway?
Eric:
Licks a little, then bites right in with gusto. Figures it makes him
look more prone to compromise as King, unlike that jerk of a brother,
Corwin, who
would just BITE THE HEAD off a petitioner like the uncompassionate duff he is.
Fiona:
Fast little licks, using only the tip of her tongue. Balances the pop
in her hand as if making a point, always perfectly poised to have it
in her mouth when she's expected to make an incriminating expression.
Usually discards it as a prop after the meeting.
Flora:
Really seems to enjoy it, utilizing more sucking action than licking.
Licks her sticky lips a lot, especially if there's anyone she can
tease with it in the room. Likes to choose flavours which come in
red, if only for the symbology. She can make it last as long as she
wants
Gerard:
Buys the mega-sized pops, kind of keeps them in the corner of his
mouth, slowly dissolving, chewing thoughtfully as he goes through his
stack of "Amazon Barbarian Queens: Slave Block Edition" collector's
magazines.
Julian:
Only likes the small, rodent flavours, preferably those with
"once-live" pinkie mice in the middle. The rest of the family doesn't
quite see the point.
Llewella:
Prefers lime and mint flavours, learned from Flora the trick of
spinning the candy part around and deforming the remainder into
suggestive shapes. Only practices it, however, in front of her
mirrors.
Oberon:
Doesn't like the chewy part. It might mean he was getting soft.
Thinks lollypops are for munchkins. He buys real man's candy:
licorice.
Random:
Likes alcoholic flavours, goes through them pretty fast. Sucks
through the chewy centre, too.
